10 Signs Your Corporate Website Needs a Redesign |

A corporate website rarely becomes ineffective overnight. More often, small problems accumulate until the experience no longer represents the organisation behind it.

Here are ten signs it may be time to rethink your website.

1. The website no longer reflects the brand

Your company has evolved, but the website still communicates who you were five years ago.

2. Users struggle to find important information

If customers regularly ask where something is located on the website, the problem may be information architecture rather than content quantity.

3. The homepage is trying to say everything

When every department wants priority, nothing feels important. Strong hierarchy is one of the foundations of good UX.

4. Mobile feels like a reduced desktop site

Responsive design should consider context, navigation, touch behaviour and content priority, not simply scale elements down.

5. Your CMS is stopping the team from publishing

If simple content updates require developers, the platform may no longer support the organisation efficiently.

6. The site is visually inconsistent

Years of adding campaign pages and new components often result in multiple design languages living inside one website.

7. Performance is poor

Heavy images, scripts and legacy code can make a visually impressive site frustrating to use. Performance is part of user experience.

8. The website has become an internal organisation chart

Users do not necessarily understand your department structure. Navigation should reflect what visitors need, not only how the company is organised.

In our HKADC redesign, improving information architecture and content discoverability was central because the platform serves artists, arts organisations and the public across many types of resources.

9. The website generates traffic but not action

Visitors may arrive through search but fail to enquire, apply, book or explore further. This often points to weak journeys, unclear propositions or missing calls to action.

10. Everyone is afraid to change it

A healthy digital platform should be able to evolve. If every update feels risky, expensive or technically fragile, the underlying system may be holding the business back.

Redesign does not always mean starting again

Sometimes the answer is a complete rebuild. Sometimes it is a focused UX, content or technical improvement. Begin by identifying what is actually failing and what still works.

The goal is not simply to make the website look newer. It is to make it easier for users to understand, navigate and act.

────────────

3. Homepage

Desktop

Organization Chart

Action
